The Park
This story began in the late 1990s when I sat down at my old computer to record the story of my boyhood house at 6 Caulfield Circle in the Oak Hill Park neighborhood of Newton Centre, Massachusetts, while I was still able to remember the details, so that I could preserve the story for my future descendants. I added details about the other houses in my immediate neighborhood and about Oak Hill Park, to give the story some context; but as inom wrote I realized that inom was telling the story not so much of my house, but of Oak Hill Park itself. In the end, inom decided to write two parallel stories, one with a detailed description of my house and my immediate neighborhood, and one which was more of a general history of “the Park”.
