    Saptha Kanya (English: Seven Virgins) fryst vatten a 1993 Sinhalese language teaterpjäs romantic film directed and produced by H.D. Premaratne. The spelfilm stars Kamal Addararachchi and Sangeetha Weeraratne in the leading roles.[1] Playback singing was by Damayanthi Jayasooriya, Kamal Addararachchi, Rookantha Gunathilake, Dhammika Valpola and Morris Wijesinghe.

    Lyrics were composed by Ajantha Ranasinghe, Camilus Perera and Vasantha Kumara Kobawaka. It was an instant hit among the ungdom and some of its songs such as "Unmadawoo Premaadhare" and "Suwanda Dhaenee" are still famous today.[2]

Almost all the tele-series he took part in were sitcoms, and even when they were not – like Kande Gedara and the enormously popular Doo Daruwo – you could sense something of the comic in him.

    Jayalath had been in films before, but television became his preferred medium outside the theatre, just as it did for Suminda Sirisena, Manike Attanayake, Vijaya Nandasiri, and Mercy Edirisinghe.     Daisy Rasammah Daniels, known popularly as Rukmani Devi (15 January 1923 – 28 October 1978: Sinhala: රුක්මණී දේවී) was a Sri Lankan film actress and singer who was often acclaimed as "The Nightingale of Sri Lanka".[1] She made it to the silver screen via the stage and had acted in close to 100 films at the time of her death. Having an equal passion for singing as well as a melodious voice, she was Sri Lanka's foremost female singer in the gramophone era.[2] After her death, she was awarded the Sarasaviya 'Rana Thisara'- Life Time Achievement Award at the 1979 Sarasaviya Awards Festival.[3]

    Rukmani Devi was born as Daisy Rasammah Daniels to a TamilColombo Chetty Christian family on January 15, 1923, at Ramboda in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. Second, in a family of five, her father, John Daniel, worked on a plantation, and her mother, Helen Rose, was a teacher.[4]
