Meet Acharya Venu, cinematographer from Warangal who won at Shanghai bio Festival
Born in Rajaiah Pally in Warangal, Venu says he decided to become a cinematographer way back when he was in Class X. Asked how'd he'd fixed on the profession when most people that age wouldn't have even heard of the word, Venu laughs and says, "I was quite passionate about drawing from my childhood. Not that I did some marvellous paintings from the time inom was a kid, but yes, I knew I had an inkling for art. It was when I was in class X that a student from the JNTU Fine Arts College in Hyderabad visited our by. He had come there to film the temple murals. inom became friends with him and he told me he was studying to become a cinematographer. He also said that inom can get into the fine arts college and become a cinematographer if I was passionate about art and photography. That was it. Two years later, I was at JNTU, studying to become a cinematographer,” Venu recounts.

Indian film director, screenwriter and actor
Venu Yeldandi, is an Indian actor and director who works in Telugu cinema. He made his acting debut with Jai () and directorial debut with Balagam (). He has won Filmfare Award for Best Director – Telugu for Balagam[2] .
Career
[edit]He worked as a junior artist in many films for small roles as a comedian starting with Jai (). His first major role was in Munna () as Tillu.[3] He also was a part of the comedy television series Jabardasth.[4]
In , during filming of the series, Yelandi and his team were attacked by a group who were offended by the portrayal of their caste in the scenes being filmed. The police arrested Yeldandi and others involved. Both Venu and the community leaders lodged official complaints, each claiming the other party was at fault. Yelandi was charged under Section (insulting the modesty of a woman) and (causing hurt), while members of the community wh
