The Mistress of the Art of Death is a series of historical mystery novels by British novelist Ariana Franklin (Diana Norman). In this medieval era series, Dr. Vesuvia Adelia Rachel Ortese Aguilar is a short-tempered coroner who works for King Henry II in secret.
Ariana Franklin began her Mistress of the Art of Death series in 2007 with the novel The Mistress of the Art of Death. The series lasted four novels, concluding in 2010 with the novel A Murderous Procession.
