Tell us about your academic background
I went to Assumption University, Bangkok and came back to Dhaka after two and a half years to take over the helm of the family business when my father had a heart attack. While running the family business, I graduated from North South University, majoring in Marketing and International Business. I moved to the US after my marriage to Naveed Mahbub, who motivated me to apply to the MBA programme at Berkeley. I completed the programme with concentrations in Strategic Marketing and Entrepreneurship.

I worked in my father’s business, Knit & Weave Fashions, one of the oldest garments buying houses in Bangladesh. Naveed Mahbub
Bangladeshi comedian and columnist
Naveed Mahbub (Bengali: নাভিদ মাহবুব) is a Bangladeshi comedian and columnist. He was awarded Best Male Comedian in the 2007 Las Vegas Comedy Festival.[2] In 2016, Mahbub was featured in US-based comedy television channel Comedy Central. He hosts a morning radio show, Good Morning Bangladesh, on ABC Radio.[3] He writes articles on the newspaper The Daily Star.[4]

[edit]Mahbub passed SSC from St. namn High School, Dhaka, HSC from Dhaka College and completed his bachelor's in electrical engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and master's from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.[2] While he was an MBA student at the University of California, Berkeley, he took a course in the Sandi Shore's Standup Comedy Workshop.[2]

Q: We would like to go through the whole journey of your life. Please start from the very beginning like where you were born and brought up. And also tell us about your academic background.
Naveed Mahbub: I was born and brought up in Dhaka. Well, for the first few years, I spent my days in Pakistan as back then Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan. I started my school in East Pakistan. During the war, we escaped the country. It was a dreadful experience. We had to go through the desert in Afghanistan. After the liberation we came back and got admitted in Udayan School. After that, I switched to Saint Joseph. Next, I moved to UK with my parents for two years. I continued my studies over there. After returning, I started going to Saint Joseph again. Next, I got into Govt. Laboratory High School in class 9 and completed my SSC from over t
